Suns F.C. fail to capitalize at home, fall 2-0 to IMG Academy

Boca Raton, Florida– Wednesday June 1st, your Palm Beach Suns faced IMG Academy in their fourth game of the 2016 season. Suns are still seeking to gain their first win of the season, and there is still a lot of soccer to be played. The Suns believe things can and will pick up for them. However, this game against IMG was unfortunate, with the end result being 2-0 IMG.

The Suns started off the first half very strong, things were looking positive as both teams had about 4 shots at goal in the first half. Unfortunately the Suns had some small errors in their defensive line, which lead the Suns to concede a goal in the 15th minute, a cross sent to an open IMG forward, who volleyed the ball into the left corner of the Suns goal.

Shortly after the IMG goal, the Suns midfielder Igor Kuntze had an almost spectacular goal by bicycle kick that nearly leveled the game.
As the first half was coming to a close in the 40th minute, IMG broke through Suns defense, leaving IMG with an open shot at goal from about 10 yards out, leaving Suns goal keeper exposed. This resulted in leaving the score line at half 2-0 IMG.

The second half of the game began with the Suns hoping to make a comeback. However, regrettably for both teams, no goals were scored. Both teams played very strong and held their own in the second half. The Suns are still trying to pull themselves together this season, as they are still a very new team, many of the players have never played together before the last month. The Suns coaches are realizing that they have to rethink strategy, formatting, and players going forward.

“I believe the team can be a team, we have a lot of strong players, but too many of them were trying to win this game on their own. Defensively we made a lot of silly mistakes, ultimately losing us the game tonight. We have to restructure the team and our tactics, so we can bring more to our games. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we have to look forward and move on”. Said Head Coach Chiquinho.

The Suns are continuing their fight in this season, next Wednesday June 8, they play Floridians FC at home Oxbridge Academy, and will be pushing for a win. Next Wednesday is College night, bring a college ID and get in free!! For tickets go to palmbeachsunsfc.com
